Authorities in San Francisco are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred late Wednesday night in the North Beach district.
Police said a vehicle driven by Abdul Hye, 43, struck a pedestrian near Kearny and Broadway streets at around 10:42 p.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, while another person injured in the crash was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after falling from a scooter.
Hye was arrested at the scene and charged in connection with the fatal collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
