Police continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the lives of a U.S. Marine, his girlfriend, and another driver in Los Angeles on Friday night.

According to investigators, a minivan ran a red light at the intersection of North Woodman Avenue and Terra Bella Street around 9:30 p.m., striking a Ford Mustang occupied by Adrian Carrillo, 20, who was home on holiday leave. The van was reportedly fleeing an earlier crash and also collided with a Honda Civic. Carrillo, a Marine sergeant preparing to re-enlist, and his girlfriend were killed, along with the minivan driver. Authorities said the Civic driver fled the scene.
