Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of 48-year-old Albert Gomez on Wednesday evening in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Gomez, a resident of Woodlake, was walking across the northbound lanes of Highway 41 near Tulare Street at about 5 p.m. when he was struck by a Dodge truck traveling in the middle lane.
Emergency responders pronounced Gomez dead at the scene.
Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and spoke with officers following the collision. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
