Police in Garner have arrested a 20-year-old driver in connection with a fatal crash that occurred late Friday night along Jones Sausage Road.
Investigators said Alberto Urieta-Calixto Jr. was driving an SUV that crashed at about 10:25 p.m. near the Amazon Fulfillment Center. An unidentified passenger inside the vehicle suffered critical injuries and was taken to WakeMed Raleigh along with three other occupants.
Authorities later confirmed that one of the injured victims died from their injuries.
Urieta-Calixto was initially cited for driving while impaired and for consuming alcohol while under the age of 21. He was later arrested and charged with felony death by motor vehicle and felony serious injury by motor vehicle.
Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
