A 42-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on July 1 in Fresno.

Police say Alejandro Gallardo was walking in a marked crosswalk on the Highway 99 off-ramp at Olive Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Fresno County Sheriff's Coroner's Unit is now seeking the public's help in locating Gallardo's family members.

Officials say locating immediate relatives is required before the Coroner's Unit can release the body for burial. Anyone with information that could help locate Gallardo's family is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Unit at 559-600-3400 or by email at coroner@fresnosheriff.org.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details about the driver or vehicle involved have been released at this time.
