The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal head-on crash that injured Allen Carey and Danielle Carey near Oakdale.
Preliminary findings indicate that a westbound Subaru sedan crossed into oncoming traffic on State Route 108/120 west of Kennedy Road around 2:56 p.m., striking an eastbound 2019 Tesla sedan. The Subaru driver died at the scene.
Allen Carey, 28, was driving the Tesla at the time of the crash. Danielle Carey, 28, was one of the passengers in the vehicle. Both sustained major injuries and were taken to Oak Valley Medical Center. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
