Police are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision in Los Angeles that claimed the lives of Alvaro Castillo and Sergio Hill late Friday night.
According to investigators, Castillo and Hill were traveling in a Toyota Camry that was making a left turn from West 78th Street onto Crenshaw Boulevard around 10:44 p.m. when a BMW SUV struck the vehicle. Both men died at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.
Officials said the crash involved at least three vehicles and left Castillo's daughter in critical condition. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles racing along Crenshaw Boulevard shortly before the impact, and investigators are examining whether illegal street racing played a role in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to assist Castillo's family during this difficult time.
