Authorities are investigating a fatal crash Friday evening in Fresno County that claimed the life of a passenger after a driver reportedly ran a red light.

According to CHP, the collision occurred at the intersection of Clovis and North avenues when a Ford Expedition entered the intersection against a red signal and struck a Mercedes-Benz CLA250.

Ana Salcedo Jimenez, 44, died at the scene as a result of the crash. The Expedition driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Officials noted that the Mercedes-Benz driver was suspected of being under the influence and was arrested. The crash remains under investigation.
