Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a San Jose resident Monday afternoon in Fremont.
According to preliminary information, Andrew Barret Mackenzie, 49, was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Cushing Parkway and Northport Loop shortly after 3 p.m.
Emergency responders transported Mackenzie to a local hospital, but he later died from his injuries, police said. The coroner’s office confirmed his identity.
The pickup truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators have not yet released details regarding what led to the collision.
