
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal early-morning crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar that left a 19-year-old woman dead.
Authorities said a semi-truck and a Tesla were involved in the collision, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at the Polk Street off-ramp.
The victim was identified by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office as Angie Rios. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
Investigators continue to examine the events leading up to the crash, including roadway conditions and potential contributing factors.
