Authorities continue to investigate a serious crash that left four people hospitalized Friday night in Redding, after a 23-year-old man was booked into jail on felony charges.
According to police, Anthony Martin was driving a Honda Odyssey south on Lake Boulevard at a high rate of speed just before 9 p.m. when he ran a red light at the intersection with Oasis Road, striking a Mitsubishi sedan that was exiting a nearby Dollar General parking lot.
The force of the collision sent the minivan across the roadway and into a bus stop, where it struck and seriously injured two unidentified men who were seated there. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, 41, and his female passenger also suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Police say Martin was arrested and booked on felony charges after allegedly being found under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.
