Authorities in Hawthorne are continuing to investigate a deadly multi-vehicle crash involving a speeding pickup truck that left one woman dead and her teenage daughter critically injured.

Police said the collision occurred around 11:49 p.m. at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue when a pickup truck allegedly ran a red light and struck multiple vehicles.

Among those involved were 42-year-old April Clements and her 17-year-old daughter, Jada. First responders worked to free both victims from their heavily damaged vehicle before transporting them to a hospital.

Officials confirmed that April Clements later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Her daughter remains hospitalized in critical condition after undergoing several surgeries.

The incident remains under active investigation as the family continues to seek justice following the tragic collision.
