An electrician working for the San Jose Department of Transportation died Tuesday after another truck crashed into the bucket truck he was using to repair a streetlight, according to police.
The victim was identified as Ari Green. Police said Green was working from a bucket truck near Hillsdale and Narvaez avenues when the other truck struck the vehicle.
Green was seriously injured in the collision and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he died following the accident.
Green was working on a streetlight at the time of the collision, according to authorities.
The crash involved a roadside worker performing streetlight repairs, highlighting the risks faced by workers operating near active traffic lanes.
