Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Monday night along a frontage road near Highway 20 in Yuba City.
According to police, 69-year-old Balwinder Kaur was struck by an SUV around 9:20 p.m. in the 2600 block of Colusa Frontage Road, just north of Colusa Highway.
Investigators said the impact threw Kaur approximately 50 feet into a ditch near the roadway. She suffered severe injuries and was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police also noted that Kaur’s walker was found at the scene of the collision.
The SUV driver remained at the scene following the accident, officials said.
The Yuba City Police Department traffic unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
