A bicyclist who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday evening in Oakland has died, prompting an ongoing search for the driver involved.
Police said Batholomew Fitzgerald Drawsand, 38, was riding westbound on East 22nd Street and turned onto 23rd Avenue when he was struck by a southbound vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. The driver fled the scene without stopping.
Drawsand was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries and later died Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.
Investigators have not released details about the suspect vehicle or driver.
The Oakland Police Department continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information to contact authorities.
