Santa Rosa police have arrested Brigido Pena Villanueva following a hit-and-run crash that left an elderly pedestrian critically injured at the intersection of Morgan Street and College Avenue.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was legally crossing College Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. The driver fled the area but later contacted police and admitted involvement in the collision.
Villanueva, 31, was taken into custody and faces a felony hit-and-run charge resulting in serious bodily injury. Officers continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
