A 60-year-old Los Angeles County man identified as Bulmaro Alvarez Chavez was killed late Saturday night in a multi-car crash on I-5 north of Templin Highway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision around 11:10 p.m. Chavez, driving a white Jeep Cherokee, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver, a 21-year-old Wasco resident operating a silver Toyota Camry, was found to be under the influence and taken into custody.
He faces felony charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
