A snowy stretch of Highway 50 saw a serious crash Monday afternoon that left Cesar Paz and two others hospitalized, authorities said.
Paz, 22, was assisting another driver with tire chains when a pickup truck traveling west lost control and struck the group. Emergency responders quickly freed the victims, and all were taken to a hospital with significant injuries. The CHP is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
