Oakland police are continuing to investigate a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday night that killed Charles Blackmon and two other men while injuring three additional people near International Boulevard.

According to investigators, the crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. outside East Bay Market & Liquor near 85th Avenue and International Boulevard. Authorities said a pickup truck drove onto the sidewalk, striking multiple pedestrians gathered near the corner.

Charles Blackmon, 65, was among those killed in the violent collision. Emergency responders transported three injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect shortly after the crash. Authorities allege the teen was driving at more than 50 mph in a 25-mph zone before the incident occurred.

The suspect faces charges including vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run as the investigation continues.
