Authorities are continuing to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a 29-year-old Victorville resident Friday night in Apple Valley.
The victim, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as Claudia Alexa Avila, was struck by a vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. near Central Road and Ottawa Road.
Officials said Avila sustained severe injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not disclosed what may have led to the crash, and no additional details about the vehicle or driver involved were immediately available.
The incident remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
