One person died and another was injured in a Saturday morning crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway at the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Cruz Saldana Munoz.

The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound in the No. 4 lane at approximately 8:25 a.m. when it swerved to the right shoulder, then veered left across the lanes and struck the concrete center divider. The driver lost control and collided with a Honda Pilot SUV, pushing both vehicles onto the right shoulder before the Toyota struck a concrete wall and came to rest.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries. Another person involved in the crash was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Munoz was a driver or passenger in either vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol said the investigation into the crash is continuing.
