California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal bicycle crash that occurred Friday afternoon in Novato.
CHP said Daniel Irvin Fred, a 75-year-old Novato resident, was riding south on San Antonio Road near the Sonoma County line when he was struck by a Toyota Highlander.
Emergency responders pronounced Fred dead at the scene. The vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old Petaluma man who stayed at the location following the crash, according to CHP.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under review.
