A fatal DUI crash early Saturday morning in Salem claimed the life of 54-year-old Daniel Lewis, police said.
Authorities reported that Lewis was driving along Lancaster Drive near Willamette Town Center when a speeding Mercedes SUV collided with his vehicle.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes fled but was later located and arrested. He now faces multiple charges, including manslaughter and DUII.
Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
