The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office has expanded charges against a former educator accused of committing lewd acts against multiple minors across several school districts.
David Braff, a former counselor from Thousand Oaks, was initially arrested in November 2024 on 17 felony counts involving six students at McKevett Elementary School in Santa Paula, where he worked from 2015 to 2019.
In April 2025, prosecutors added 14 more counts involving seven additional minors, and two new alleged victims were identified on Oct. 22, 2025. Braff now faces a total of 33 counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 involving 15 minors.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in custody at the Todd Road Jail after Ventura County Superior Court Judge Kristi Peariso denied bail. Officials are urging any additional victims or witnesses to contact the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
