Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred early Thursday in La Puente involving an undercover Alhambra Police Department vehicle participating in the service of a search warrant.
According to investigators, the crash happened just before 6 a.m. near Amar Road and Evanwood Avenue. Preliminary information indicates the police vehicle was traveling southbound through the intersection after stopping at a stop sign when it collided with a westbound motorcycle ridden by 46-year-old David Cano.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office identified Cano as the victim. He died from injuries sustained in the collision. Two occupants of the police vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Officials have not released further details as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional information has been made available.
