A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunken driver in Lake Forest, according to police.
The victim, 55-year-old David Matthew Atwood Sr., was riding near El Toro Road and Creekside around 5:42 a.m. when he was hit. He was found unresponsive at the scene and was rushed to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police arrested 21-year-old Matthew Christian Biedebach on suspicion of driving under the influence in connection with the crash. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
