The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Thursday night on Interstate 840 in Rutherford County.

According to troopers, the incident happened near milepost 56 when a Honda Pilot traveling westbound struck a disabled Toyota Corolla that had been left partially blocking the roadway after a prior crash.

Following the collision, the Honda also struck a pedestrian near the vehicles. Denise J. Bradley, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said no additional injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending pending completion of the crash review.
