A two-vehicle collision in the early morning hours Sunday left a 37-year-old Perris woman dead and multiple others injured in Moreno Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed.
Diana Diaz was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, which took place at approximately 5:33 a.m. at the intersection of Perris Boulevard and San Michele Road. First responders arriving at the scene pronounced Diaz deceased.
A passenger traveling with Diaz was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash also sustained critical injuries. Passengers in that vehicle were reported to have suffered additional unspecified injuries, according to authorities.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has released no further information regarding what led to the collision. The Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station Traffic Reconstruction Team is handling the ongoing investigation.
