Authorities are investigating a pedestrian crash that ultimately claimed the life of a man from Adelanto.
According to police, Diego Ayala, 39, was struck by a Toyota Prius around 12:26 a.m. at Palmdale Road and Highway 395. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Ayala died on March 13, nearly a week after the crash.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials confirmed that impairment and criminal conduct were not suspected. The Victorville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the case.
