A wrong-way crash on the Harbor Freeway in South Los Angeles left one man dead and another person hospitalized Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to CHP officials, Edmund Davis was driving a Honda Civic north in the southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway near Vernon Avenue when the vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan Murano at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Davis, 76, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision.

An occupant of one of the two vehicles involved was transported to a hospital with injuries that have not yet been disclosed, according to the CHP.
