Los Angeles police arrested a truck driver Thursday following a deadly hit-and-run collision that killed a motorcyclist in the Sun Valley neighborhood.

According to investigators, the crash happened around 4:20 a.m. when a Freightliner Cascadia traveling northbound on Bradley Street from Tuxford Avenue attempted to turn left onto private property.

Authorities said the motorcyclist attempted to pass on the left side of the truck during the maneuver, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The rider died at the scene from injuries sustained in the impact.

Police identified the truck driver as Edvard Gyulnazaryan. Investigators allege that after the collision, Gyulnazaryan completed the turn and drove into a nearby private business property without stopping.

Authorities later said he returned to the crash location and was taken into custody by officers.

No additional information regarding the identity of the motorcyclist has been released. The investigation into the fatal collision remains active.
