
Authorities are investigating a deadly three-vehicle collision that occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 in Santa Clarita.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place at approximately 3 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Magic Mountain Parkway. A box truck, a Toyota Camry, and a semi-trailer were involved.
Officials stated that the box truck overturned as a result of the collision. The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the deceased victim as 50-year-old Edwin Oscanoa Vicuna. At this time, investigators have not confirmed which vehicle Vicuna was riding in.
Three northbound lanes were shut down following the crash, causing traffic disruptions during the morning commute. CHP continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
