Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of Ernestina Contreras-Ascencion on March 21 in Ontario.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Contreras-Ascencion was struck by a vehicle at Inland Empire Boulevard and East Shelby Street. The driver involved has not been identified.
Emergency responders transported her to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries later that afternoon. Officials confirmed she died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances of the collision.
