Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving an ambulance that occurred Tuesday evening in West Chester.
Officials said the collision happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 8500 block of Beckett Road near Beckett Park as a West Chester Township ambulance was returning from a hospital transport.
Ernestina Obeng, 43, and another person in the passenger vehicle were taken to UC Health West Chester Hospital. Obeng later succumbed to her injuries. The second individual sustained injuries that were not described.
Investigators said it remains unclear whether Obeng was driving or riding as a passenger at the time of the crash. The incident is under active investigation.
