A pedestrian was killed Saturday night in a crash at a busy Indio intersection, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.
The victim was identified as 75-year-old Estela Garza of Bermuda Dunes. The crash happened around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Golf Center Parkway and Avenue 44 when a white Audi sedan traveling north on Golf Center Parkway struck her.
Garza was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and has cooperated with investigators, according to Indio police.
