Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in California City that claimed the life of a 68-year-old passenger Tuesday morning.
According to police, the crash occurred in the 7000 block of Walpole Avenue when a vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck an area off the street. Emergency crews responded, but the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gabriel Tetoe Jaryenneh Sr.
The California City Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and no additional details have been released.
