A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Chula Vista man Wednesday morning in Dulzura, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to CHP, Gerardo Torres Cano, 30, was operating a Yamaha westbound on State Route 94 when it collided with a Toyota Tacoma at about 8:40 a.m. Investigators said the Tacoma, driven by a 33-year-old firefighter in his personal vehicle, was traveling eastbound and attempting a left turn into a driveway.
Cano died at the scene of the crash, which occurred near Campbell Ranch Road outside Cal Fire Station 30. Authorities noted the firefighter was en route to report for duty when the collision occurred.
