A hit-and-run crash in east Los Angeles late Monday night left a 44-year-old man dead, prompting an active search for the driver.
Officials said Guillermo Magallanes was struck by a vehicle around 11:02 p.m. at East Olympic Boulevard and South Arizona Avenue. The driver stopped briefly but fled on foot shortly after the impact.
Emergency responders pronounced Magallanes dead at the scene.
Authorities indicated that multiple vehicles may have been involved in the incident. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
