Authorities are investigating a fatal collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck that claimed the life of Harmony Anne Hoyer near Ridgecrest on June 16.
The Kern County Coroner's Office identified Hoyer, 20, of Ridgecrest, as the victim of the crash that occurred at approximately 10:31 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Bowman Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Hoyer was driving southbound on Highway 395 when her vehicle collided with a semi-truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
The force of the crash caused the semi-truck to jackknife across the roadway. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the truck driver or whether any other injuries were reported.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fatal crash. The California Highway Patrol continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
