A 50-year-old San Diego resident lost his life after a multi-vehicle traffic accident Friday in the 2200 block of Iris Avenue, authorities reported.
The victim was identified as Hector Manuel Herrera Jr. Police said Herrera was involved in a collision involving multiple vehicles and suffered serious injuries.
First responders transported Herrera to UC San Diego Health hospital, where he later died despite treatment efforts.
Investigators have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash or released information about other individuals who may have been involved. Additional details are expected as the investigation progresses.
Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
