
Authorities are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that occurred New Year’s Eve in Madera County, resulting in two deaths.
CHP officials said the collision happened shortly before 11 a.m. at Road 23 and Avenue 13 when a Honda CR-V reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a big rig. One of the victims was identified by family members as Isabella Marlene Villegas Nevarez, 21. A second occupant was also killed.
Nevarez’s family has established a GoFundMe to assist with funeral and memorial expenses as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
