Two women were killed and three children were injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle collision in Peoria, according to police.

Authorities identified the victims as 21-year-old Jaslin Avila and 24-year-old Cynthia Morales. Investigators said the women and several family members had gathered for Thanksgiving, and five cousins — including the children — were headed out for Christmas shopping when their GMC was struck by a Hyundai around 5:30 p.m. on Bell Road near Loop 101.

Police have not yet released details on the children’s injuries. A GoFundMe launched by the family is raising funds for funeral and medical expenses. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
