Police are investigating a fatal rollover collision that claimed the life of Jason Chavez, 22, Monday morning in Indio.
According to authorities, Chavez was one of two occupants traveling in a Toyota Tundra when the pickup truck lost control at approximately 8:13 a.m. on Fred Waring Drive. The vehicle overturned, ejecting both men from the truck.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second occupant was taken to a hospital with injuries. Investigators have not released what caused the driver to lose control, and the crash remains under active investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
