A 19-year-old man lost his life Tuesday night following a crash involving a dirt bike and a vehicle in New Brunswick, authorities said.
According to the New Brunswick Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 7:29 p.m. along Jersey Avenue near Jules Lane. Jayvi Rodriguez, of Somerset, was operating the dirt bike when it collided with a vehicle.
Following the impact, both the dirt bike and the vehicle caught fire. Rodriguez was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle was also hospitalized with injuries, though their condition has not been disclosed.
Officials confirmed that an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
