A man and a woman were killed in a tragic traffic collision involving a big rig Monday morning in Lucerne Valley, authorities said.
The victims were identified as Jeffrey Cymbaluk, 66, and Paula Lowery Cymbaluk, 64, both residents of Lucerne Valley.
According to officials, the couple’s vehicle was involved in a collision with a big rig and another vehicle around 9:30 a.m. on Highway 18 near Meridian Road. Jeffrey Cymbaluk was behind the wheel, and Paula Cymbaluk was riding as a passenger.
Both victims died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigators with the California Highway Patrol continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Witnesses or anyone with information are encouraged to come forward.
