Police have arrested a Mount Shasta man in connection with a DUI hit-and-run crash that injured an elderly woman Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the area of the 200 block of Chestnut Street. The victim was struck by a vehicle and suffered injuries that required hospitalization.
Investigators identified the driver as 45-year-old Jeffrey Scott Lensing. Police said Lensing fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody.
Following an investigation, officers determined Lensing was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He faces charges of driving under the influence causing bodily injury and hit-and-run. The investigation remains ongoing.
