A two-vehicle crash on Route 78 near Julian claimed the life of Jesus Canales Lopez on Saturday, officials said. Investigators reported that two pickups traveling in opposite directions collided head-on, causing catastrophic damage. Lopez and another victim were pronounced dead, while two others were flown to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the cause of the crash as the investigation continues.
