Two people were critically injured after a suspected impaired driver caused a multi-vehicle crash during Cave Creek Bike Week, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling on the wrong side of Cave Creek Road collided with a stopped GMC truck, multiple motorcycles, and several pedestrians. Among the injured, John Grafner and Phoenix resident Jill Wallin suffered the most serious injuries and were transported to Deer Valley Hospital in critical condition.

Officials reported that the crash involved at least eight motorcycles and multiple individuals. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to support Wallin’s family, helping cover medical expenses and living costs during recovery.

Charges against the driver are pending the results of toxicology tests. The investigation remains ongoing.
