A pedestrian fatally struck in a DUI hit-and-run in Clovis last week has been identified as Johnny Raygoza, 41, of Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner's Office announced.

Raygoza was on foot near Barstow and Clovis avenues around 10 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle hit him. Witnesses reported the driver briefly stopped before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders transported Raygoza to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries on Sunday.

Clovis police responded to the scene and arrested a 45-year-old Clovis woman the same evening. She was booked into Fresno County Jail and faces charges including felony DUI, felony hit-and-run, evading law enforcement, and possession of a controlled substance.

The Clovis Police Department's Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation. Members of the public who witnessed the collision or have relevant information are encouraged to reach out to the department directly.
