
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal Christmas Day crash on Interstate 5 that claimed the lives of two children in Los Angeles County.
According to CHP officials, a Nissan Rogue traveling northbound rear-ended a Toyota RAV4 that was stopped in the center median south of Vista Del Lago Road at approximately 2:56 p.m.
The impact caused three minors to be ejected from the Toyota. Two of the children died at the scene despite emergency medical efforts.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Jorge Preciado, was taken into custody on suspicion of felony child endangerment. Authorities stated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
